The students and staff at AlWood Elementary School celebrated their house Opening Ceremony on Friday, September 5th. This is the second year for using the house system at the school. There are four houses within the school, each of which is composed of K-5 students and the schoolwide staff. The houses represent each of the four letters in A.C.E.S., which stands for the school's expectations in their PBIS program.
Alligators: Act Responsibly
Cobras: Care for Others
Eagles: Excel in Your Learning
Sharks: Safe Choices
Returning students are in the same house as last year. During the Opening Ceremony, new students and the kindergarteners all randomly chose a card which showed them which house they would be in. Houses then broke out into their groups to do the activity for the day.
