Our fourth graders at AlWood Elementary are building connections and friendships through a special pen pal program with students from Cambridge! Each month, students exchange letters, giving them the opportunity to practice their writing skills, learn about one another, and build meaningful connections with students from a neighboring school.
Recently, we were excited to welcome our Cambridge pen pals to AlWood! Students had the opportunity to meet their pen pals in person, put faces to the letters they have been exchanging, and spend time getting to know one another through fun activities.
We are already looking forward to May, when our AlWood fourth graders will travel to Cambridge for another visit to celebrate their friendships and wrap up the school year together!
We love seeing our students grow as writers while building friendships and connections within our community. We look forward to continuing this wonderful tradition.
