AlWood is looking for substitute bus drivers. The Regional Office of Education in Atkinson is offering the "Initial Bus Class" very soon. If you would like more information please contact the unit office at 309-334-2719.

Update on tonight's sporting events:
JH baseball game has been postponed. You will practice in the MS gym from 3:30-4:30.
JH softball game has been postponed. You will have practice from 4:30-5:30 in the MS gym.
Tonight’s HS golf meet has been cancelled. Practice details will be shared by the coach with the golfers.

P.E. uniform orders can be placed until August 15.
Uniforms, consisting of a T-shirt and shorts, are a requirement for all middle and high school P.E. classes.

The material is soft. Staff has ordered sweatshirts because of the texture. The students commented that they like the uniformity.

This afternoon there was a brief fire at AlWood High School. Everyone is safe and the fire was quickly extinguished. The AlWood School District appreciates our local fire department and law enforcement for responding so quickly. This is now an ongoing investigation with Law Enforcement so we ask for nobody to enter the Middle/High School tomorrow, July 11, 2025. Thank you for your cooperation.

The deadline to turn in forms for Boys Youth and Junior High Basketball Camps has been extended until Tuesday at 3pm! Youth Camp is for any boy entering 3rd through 6th grade in the fall, and the Jr. High Camp is for any boy entering 7th or 8th grade in the Fall. Get your forms turned into the office by then! If you need a new form see the ones attached!

If you've been saving up your pop tabs, you can still drop them off at the elementary school by the end of the school year. We will be taking them to the Ronald McDonald House in Peoria this summer, as this year we have a family near and dear to AlWood that is benefiting from the amazing services from that great organization.

There is a boil order at AlWood High School due to a water main break this morning on 5th Avenue. Thank you to the Village of Woodhull, Tony's (Nate), and Robin Damer for taking care of the issue. We anticipate the boil order will be lifted on Monday once the water can be tested. We will provide some bottles of water for the graduation ceremony tomorrow near the drinking fountain. All toilets and sinks will be functional. Thanks again to everyone who helped today and for your flexibility.

The Senior Class would like to give a very special thank you to the Baccalaureate Committee and Pastor Laurie Hensley for helping plan and lead the worship service. We would like to thank the staff, family, and friends who have encouraged us to all of our years of schooling. And of course, thank you, Mrs. Pam Eiker and Ms. Denise Eiker for leading the music.

AlWood High School Baccalaureate Ceremony. Seniors, family, and friends celebrated May 4, 2025, at the Walt Minder Gymnasium. Seniors' Honor Assembly will be Wednesday, May 7th at 9:15 AM.
